Senior Institutional Dentist – Range A and B

Recruiting for:  Future full-time and part-time vacancies located at the Department of Corrections, Administrative Division, Medical Section in the following areas; Carson City, Ely, Indian Springs, North Las Vegas and Lovelock, Nevada.  Ely is a maximum security prison.

Position:  Under administrative direction, establishes and administers a comprehensive institutional dental health program, including the clinical performance of professional activities in the administration of individual treatments to dental problems of the institution’s population.

Requirements:  

RANGE A - A valid license to practice dentistry from the Nevada State Board of Dental Examiners.

RANGE B - A valid license to practice dentistry from the Nevada State Board of Dental Examiners and either; 1) certification as a diplomate by the American Board of Periodontology or Endodontics; OR 2) a fellowship or mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) or 3) three years of professional experience in a correctional setting.

SPECIAL NOTES AND REQUIREMENTS:  Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, all positions in this class have been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment in this class must first submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances. 2) Requires fingerprinting and a background investigation through the FBI and NCIC. 3) A valid license to practice dentistry in the State of Nevada is required at the time of appointment and must be maintained throughout employment.

Salary and Benefits: Annual salary RANGE A up to $115,680, RANGE B up to $130,520 (Employee/Employer Paid Retirement). Employee benefits include paid annual leave, paid sick leave, health insurance, and the state retirement plan. Other optional benefits are available, including a deferred compensation program.
